Letter about PLMHA Rep B teams

Notice to the members of the Perth Lanark Minor Hockey Association (PLMHA)
 
We recognize the cost of travel for families which has increased substantially due to fuel prices, in conjunction with price increases everywhere else, and we realize that some players may not be able to play at a competitive level moving forward, because of this.  
As a result, members of the PLMHA Board of Directors have been in discussion at the possibility of moving all rep teams to the City B League, beginning in the 2022-23 season.  We feel the travel would be much less for families with how the scheduling is done, compared to what we see with the UCMHL, and feel the time is right to begin this transition.
The goal for PLMHA is to field a minor and major team at all levels, where possible, and know that this may not always be possible resulting in some minor aged players being required to play at the major age level.  We also want to make it clear to parents that in some cases, PLMHA may be required to rely on additional import players from neighbouring associations, for this to happen.
Although there are some behind-the-scenes things that have to take place before this can happen, we are required to inform you, the members, as this will be discussed and voted on at the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM), being held on April 20^th, 2022.
We encourage all our members to attend the AGM, but if this topic is of interest to you and or your child specifically, that is more reason to attend and give your input and or thoughts.
